i9-9900K on a Z370 Maximus Apex

Been thinking about getting myself a Maximus X Apex and the 9900K, about time I update from my semi-broken system.
But AFAIK there needs to be a BIOS update so it will support the 9900K, correct? If so, can I update the BIOS without a CPU?

Hi,

Yes, you can use USB BIOS Flashback without a CPU installed using a FAT32 formatted USB pen drive.

Hello Klovnious

Welcome to the ROG forum.

If you're upgrading your motherboard, the Maximus XI boards (Z390) should be available anytime.

Thanks guys.
Don't really see the need for a z390, there's so little new features on new ones. Z370 has the features I need anyway.
