Hero XI bios 1704

Since updating the bios from 1602 to 1704 I now get a Kernel Power error 137 on returning from sleep mode. Error reads,The system firmware has changed the processor's memory type range registers (MTRRs) across a sleep state transition (S4). This can result in reduced resume performance. I don't have fast boot in windows enabled or hibernation. Running 20H2 build 19042.610. Bios set exactly as it was with 1602. Can't for the life of me think why this is happening. As far as I know S4 is hibernation, which like I said is disabled.

Anyone with any input would be most welcome.

Edit :- the problem is this new bios. Tried win 1909, same error on returning from sleep. Went back to bios 1602 and no problems. So something is screwed with 1704 on my board. Any one else affected on returning from sleep mode ?.

Hi

On my maximus Hero XI, i'm still on 1502, is it wiser to keep it or should I upgrade?

Thanks

I have a z390 Hero and prefer the older bios vs the newer. 0602 is best for 4 dim mem OC for me and 1602 is next. I didn't mess with 1704 much but the little I did I found the older better for mem oc. If not going for high me clocks 4266+ it is probably fine. It could also be I didn't spend enough time messing with 1704 but I have no desire to mess with it when the older ones work for me.

Does anyone of you guys is having problem with the speedshift thing being active even if you disable it and then disappearing from bios ?
I mean my clocks are jumping from 3.6 to 5 Ghz all the time,
Xi Hero & 9900K
I tried fixed voltage, (on offset rn) disabled c states, speed step, turbo enabled (50 on sync and 0 avx), I tried my old profile from 1602 bios, didn't work, created a new one with all the settings from scratch. The issue persist.
Reflashed the older bios, everything worked like it should, then reflashed 1704, the problem is still there.

Maybe there is a new option, another new toggle that I missed, anyone with the same symptoms ?
