Hero & Aorus Gaming 7

Well in a couple of features anyway. The boot time of the Hero X is slow but I can live with it. The problem is with the sound or to be exact the Asus Sound sound software. The Aorus Gaming 7 used the software from the Sound chip ( Realtek )as far as I know whereas Asus uses Sonic Studio.

The main beef is with the Gaming 7 I could plug my headphones into the front of the case and still have my speakers plugged into the rear and in Windows 10 i could change between then by just clicking on the Windows Sound Icon in the toolbar. Also in gaming I could select either headphones or the speakers whilst they are both connected. Not the case with the Asus software...its crap and I cant do this. So if I want to change my listening devices I have to unplug and plug the others in. And even with just the headphones in it still shows as SPEAKERS ( Realtek GHigh Definition Audio )

So whats the best way to get the Realtek software installed and just dump the Asus crap ?

btw: so many other things where the Hero X puts the Gigabyte Gaming 7 to the sword and the Gigabyte software itself is the most horrible I have seen. So not ragging on Asus but the Sound doesnt function as good as I would like

well is not all that crap my friend.

you need to enable it.

Go to the sound manager on the asus Supreme FX. Click the device advance manager. options. There will have a option Make front and rear outputs playbacks two different audio streams. check that. On sonic studio, on advance mode, device manager normally is default on speakers or if you connect a headphones that will be set on that. below, is the application manager. ones you start using audio on any app, will appear by itself. in there, once the front panel is connected to a headphone OR a usb headphones (including wireless) you can select where/what device you want to use. and presto. Be sure that you have all new bios, drivers, windows 10 updates, etc in order to have all issues resolve. Also, using the old speaker icon, you can select the vol on each source of audio without going to sonic studio-iii. I use these every day since, like you like to have more sound control. In fact i use 2 pairs of headphones, 1 usb and another to the front panel, just for music. i can route all 3 using independent sources.

Normally i do not make comparisons on brands. since each brands has their points. I have to test the new X from Asus. lets see if i can get one on mid 2018

Have a nice Friday!

Glad to hear that. Fantastic. Enjoy. I am still learning also. I do have 2 headphones aside of my speakers. music only goes to the front panel. I am using HD598SE and for gaming my hyperx Revolver S. There are some things that need to be fix like 16kHz is on the eq is not working. but if i select the automatic presets for those headphones, it the freq is there. Also i have a mix problems on obs that i can not use my front panel, still working that. Aside that panel detect the ohm from the headphones.

Enjoy and have a fantastic weekend.

Note. I do not use the sound radar. That is for a future steps
