Device Manager PCI Device and SM Bus Controller no drivers? need suggestions

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to install or have system recognise these two devices

PCI Device and SM Bus Controller.

I have installed all relevant software from Asus, tried windows update but still devices show up as unknown.

My MB is the Maximus XI Hero. I'm using the onboard Graphics and don't have the PIC slots used at the moment. The only thing I can think of is some setting change in BIOS. Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks.

Thought I'd update this, because I just ran into the same with a new build, and figured it out, although I'll admit it wasn't super-obvious.

The solution is just to "expand" the Chipset Section on the ASUS Downloads for the Z590-E (click on "See All Downloads" under the "Chipset" section), and download the rest of the Chipset drivers, along with the Intel Serial IO driver, and GNA drivers.

It would be better if ASUS displayed the latest of each, in the Chipset section, IMO, so this would make it relatively simple/obvious, to see ALL the chipset drives, from the get-go.

The easy fix is to click on the wrench in armory crate if you got that installed, and update chipset driver and it will be ok 🙂

Hi. I've just upgraded my ROG Maximus Code XI system to Windows 11 . I had the same issues. I downloaded the latest INF driver from the Intel website - this fixed my issue.

Armoury Crate did not work for me as it failed to load under Windows 11.

I allmost find correct driver.

See this thread and follow the instructions posted by MoKiChU (post #4):

It worked for me. The whole issue is with the fact that Windows somehow prefers to install 200-series chipset drivers on this motherboard.

Download and install Armoury Crate. On the Tool page, find the Driver tab. Select the drivers that are missing or need updated, and click Download/Install.
