Code XI chassis fan header limitation

My Code Xi has only 3 case/chassis fan headers, but a bunch of others labelled as AIO and such. I have 4 PMW case fans, 2 of them I merged to run off of 1 header. Does it matter if I jack a chassis fan into the AIO header? Is there any more than just a name to the additional fan headers? I use Q-fan control to slave the fans to the CPU and to Turbo default setting.

I have the XI Formula, which is mostly the same as your XI Code. My fans work fine on the AIO and W_PUMP headers. If you're controlling them by Q-Fan in UEFI Setup, everything works as expected.

There are limitations if you use AI Suite (Fan Xpert 4) in Windows: You can manually set the performance curve for AIO/W_PUMP headers, but none of the other fan configuration options are available (auto-tuning, temp source, fan location, RPM Fix Mode, auto stop, etc.)

Thank you. I took out my splitter and attached my third fan to the HI_AMP header and Q-Fan in the BIOS set it up properly from there 🙂
