What Motherboard do you have? Your Specs show an older motherboard that has the latest BIOS of 1301. This thread is for Z370/Z390 motherboards. Your specs are for a Z270 motherboard.

forget to update my profile lol anyway, i have z390 formula + 9900ks. it was evident that he was talking about this platform and not another.

to downgrade you can just flash it over your current firmware. dont forget to backup your config to usb before

1502 killed my OC

I have a maximus XI Formula with a 9900k 5 GHz on all cores

on 1401 i was stable at 1.27 V LLC6

On 1502 i get bsod even with 1.29 LLC7 and with higher temps ofc

Other settings are the same.

With 1401 settings on 1502 i can't even enter Windows (bsod at the login screen).

Reverted to 1401 to test and the old settings world like a charm then, at least on my board, 1502 Is a mess.

On passmark with 1502 and with 1.29 vcore i fail everytime SSE test on 1401 1.275 all fine with temps way lower. I really don't know what they changed but....

If i try 1.29 on 1401 i have 10 C less in idle compared to 1.29 on 1502 like something big Is going on with newer BIOS (no more load only more heat) . Maybe they changed something related to voltage supply to.the CPU.
Btw i have a 2x240 mm rad custom loop and on 1401 temps are excellent

Latest update. On 1501 i have to set svid to "worst case scenario" to obtain stabiliti, on 1401 "best case scenario" Is ok. (I:m on manual voltage ofc)

9900K and MAXIMUS XI GENE and G-SKILL 2 x 16GB 3600MHZ XMPII with bios 1401 MCE on both Auto 4.7GHZ all cores and enabled 5GHZ all cores is perfectly stable and CINEBENCH R15 gives scores of 2050 and 2150 respectively.

With bios 1502 CINEBENCH R15 scores are down by over 100 with CME auto 4.7GHz all cores and with CME enabled 5GHZ all cores CINEBENCH R15 won't complete and exits with error meaning the 5GHZ all cores isn't stable whereas with bios 1401 5GHZ all cores is perfectly stable under all circumstances.

Bios 1502 is less stable with higher CPU frequencies and is somehow throttling/restricting CPU performance in order to gain stability. back to bios 1401 I go!!!.

You need to set your voltages manually. The auto rules probably changed between 1401 and 1502, so they can't be compared.
Also, newer microcodes have caused a drop in CB performance on all ODM boards, including Asrock, MSI and Gigabyte. You can use UBU tool and insert the older faster microcodes yourself and flash it.

I always set voltages manually, Auto voltages for VCCSA and VCCIO with XMP set are nothing short of an outrageous overvolt, it's ridiculous.

Bios 15.02, XMP profiles appear to be displaced.

XMP-1 doesn't actually load Asus's optimized settings. instead, it loads the default XMP profile.

Likewise, XMP-2 loads Asus' optimized settings. instead of the Default XMP profile.

If there is BSOD or unstable OC, use the XMP-2 profile. hopefully they will solve this problem quickly !!

sorry for my bad english.

How can you tell this is happening?
