BIOS 0805 Z370-E with Intel ME Update

Intel New ME Update, Improve Stability.

New BIOS update is up for Z370-E with the latest INTEL ME UPDATE

I haven't upgraded yet. I currently have BIOS 0616 installed.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this new update. Sadly, "Improve Stability" doesn't say much.

Thanks a lot!

I updated to 805 today and everything works fine. However, I wanted to reflash with 616 and get a message saying it can't use the .cap file. Hmm. First time I've not been able to go back a version . I redownloaded 616 directly to the flash drive and tried again. No go. I then put 805 on the flash drive and it did the normal read and reflash.

Are we at place where once we install this 805 version we cannot go back to previous versions?

Thanks for the comment. Sadly, I haven't experienced that myself. Would it have to do with the ME firmware update? just a guess

*EDIT* as of 2:01 PM 6/15/18

Updated to BIOS 0805 - all working fine

Hopefully someone will come along who knows why this BIOS 805 ME is blocking installing prior versions. I had 616 .cmo saved with lots of tweaks I would like to get them back.

I also reset bios to default then tried it again. Still the "can't use the file" message. But can use 805 again as normal.

I'm making an educated guess that this Intel ME firmware update has something to do with patching up a critical security vulnerability so maybe that's the reason why rolling back seems to be blocked. Googling up IME turned this up:

I just called Asus support and talked to them about this issue. The answer they had for being able to install a prior version is to use the Crash Free update method in BIOS. Having said that, yes, the 0805 ME security code in this BIOS intentionally disables EZ FLash so prior versions cannot be flashed so easily.

If a person really needs to go back to a prior version they would need to follow the instructions on this page.

I had to remove multiple expletives from your post. Please do not use expletives in your posts, it is against the forum rules.

How about adding some punctuation marks so we can read his post better?

You'd need to ask him to do that, not me.

is anyone else having SSD write speed issues?

mine went down to 330mb/s... and the average response time is really damn high during the write benchmark (4000ms sometimes 16000ms)
