I just upgraded from 3770K to 8700K and went with Hero X WiFi for motherboard option - BIOS 1401. So far it was the most hassle-free board I had install-wise and OC capabilities were awesome, but 2 issues were noted:
- ASUS Xonar DGX PCI-E card was not detected
- ASUS BIOS Flashback was not working
I don't know why my Xonar soundcard is not detected... I re-seated it, etc. - not showing up in Device Manager, even after a format and OS re-install (Win10). ASUS Xonar DGX with UNi drivers has awesome driver latency tweaks, I would hate to use inferior Realtek onboard crap...
I wanted to use ASUS Flashback to update the board with custom UBU (UEFI BIOS UPDATER) BIOS, but it would just flash 4 times (failure). I used 2.0 USB drive, FAT32 using DiskPart to partition and format. That always worked before...
Is there Hero X OC guide? There are so many new OC and non-OC options compared to Z77 boards and some descriptions are too vague... I am on air cooling, no de-lid, and with Cryorig Universal Dual Tower cooler.
