Thanks HiVizMan….Don't think I've heard from you since the days of the Asus Z68 Rampage IV Extreme Z...Been through a few boards and chips since then....lol.

9900K @ 5.1GHZ looking good thus far....temps though are somewhat ok....def not a chip for an air cooler....AIO cooling will struggle.

Nice! Congrats on the new CPU. Had I not already jumped to HEDT from 8700K I would be rocking one now.

Are you planning a delid?

Enjoy!

Edit: I shared your results over here. Hope you don't mind. A lot of folks are interested. If you want to share more examples, please do (here and there). Can you run some wPrime 32M and 1024M and Cinbench R11.5 as well? Maybe some 3DMark 11 physics results?

Bro....delidding is def an option....a little more work vs delidding 8700K /8086K....since now your removing the solder vs paste and maybe a little sanding ....

Yes, definitely. And, from the examples I have seen, it will be worth the elbow grease (as usual). It's a little bit disappointing that the solder job is not as good as liquid metal. I had a hunch it would not be. It never was in the past with 4930K and 4960X so I had no reason to believe otherwise. But, on the positive side, delidding can be done easily using the same tools as before, just a little bit of extra effort this time. Was extremely difficult and nearly impossible with 4930K/4960X without destroying the chip.

I see you have someone over in your forum questioning the OC and temps already....lol...tell him to rest assured...they are infact legit and on the Z370 X Code board with a single CPU 8 pin...makes one think how much more the chip would do with Z390 X Code with the dual 8 pin...before hitting the throttle limit.....I will post another screenshot @ 5.1 GHZ with SVID enabled .
