Did you clear CMOS after the new bios update?

Yea but I did find out what was wrong for the sata port. For some odd reason the 1203 BIOS did set my M.2_2 slot to X4 speed and not X2. At X4 the sata port 5-6 is ofc disabled... So that is fixed.

Not to the motherboard RGB. That is not fixed.
I tryed:
- Load system default.
- Clear CMOS.
- Unplug power.
- Turning it on and off, back and forth in BIOS

Nothing works to turn off the RBG when the system is shut down.

I got bit by this "For some odd reason the 1203 BIOS did set my M.2_2 slot to X4 speed and not X2. At X4 the sata port 5-6 is ofc disabled." too. Odd behavior

On my Z270F with 7700K installed, I have 32GB of G.Skill memory F4-3200C14D-32GTZSW which is on the approved list.

Results of stock 1009 vs 1203 (only change is ignore monitor of CPU fan because of water cooling):

1009: Works fine with standard and XMP profile

1203: Works fine with standard profile (defaults to 2133MHz), but when load XMP, it won't boot. Symptom is that it will hang before video is started or sometimes the display will turn on and show a non-blinking cursor. Nothing further.

I can repeatedly load either 1009 or 1203, make sure CMOS is cleared, and the results above are easily repeated.

Why does XMP not work on 1203 when it repeatedly works on 1009?

Thanks!

I have the same memory issue with my Strix Z270E with G.SKILL F4-3200C16D-16GVKB which is on the QVL (http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1151/STRIX_Z270E_GAMING/Strix-Z270E-Gaming_memory_QVL.pdf?_ga...). With the Bios on 1009, I can set the XMP (3200) and the computer runs fine. On 1203, The computer hangs after saving the XMP setting and restarting. If I manually change the speed to 3000, the computer boots just fine. Come on ASUS - This is terrible!

Other issue is that if I place my NVME drive in M.2-1, the motherboard thinks it is Optane , even if it is not set as such in the bios (this happened in both 1009, and 1203). I had to put the NVME drive in M.2-2 for the computer to boot reliably.

Good morning to all.
I have made a 5.0 oc on mty 7700k no delid using a thermaltake water 3.0 240.

I made 5 runs in cinebench in order to capture the screen shots. Look ok I think.

i have random fall of mhz on idle (core clock drop to 4.6 from 5) .

Even in level 5 LLC the drop is ok from 1.30 to 1.28 ish.

Idel temp is fantastic for my humidiy levels, and i sure that these idel temp will rise during the day. the morning is cold i will check temps the following days.

Any observations on my pictures please let me know.

Nate, if you see these send me a chat!

My rad fans are set minimums speed rotation on 40% and avx instruction on 3.

Is there any help available or a similar case to what happens to me?

Sure we can help you, there are three ways to update the bios.

Two ways with the EZ Flash Utility

1) In EZ Flash select update the bios via the Internet then click on the earth globe DHCP.

2) Format a USB Flashdrive to .FAT32, download the latest bios from the ASUS Support Center and extract the bios file to the flashdrive. Insert the flash drive into a usb port, in EZ Flash select the usb drive, click on the bios file and it will ask you if you want to update, click yes.

3) Bios Flashback - with the same flash drive, download the latest bios from the ASUS Support Center and extract the bios file to the flash drive. Rename the bios file to M9C.CAP, insert the flash drive into the ROG connect port and hold the bios flashback (blue) button until it starts to flash then release. Flashing should get faster as it goes and should take about 90 seconds to complete.

Let us know if you're successful.

ok..... i run the numbers wil Nate. there is a isuues, that i am trying to crack. with AVX 3, there is drop. on windows.

70432

with avx in 0 all cores are ok i have to pump the vcore to 1.325 so that i can make it stable. also more temps. if you check very carefully the numbers these is accurate.

70433

i run these test a few times on avx 3 and event that is stable and temps are lower, there is a reduccion of cores hhz with some a value in bios, in may case, 3. Having AVX in 0, cores runs as expected. and also more volts, from 1.30 (with avx3) to 1.325 (with avx 0) I run these 5 test. on cinebench. until vcore was fix to my actual numbers.

as far is my computer goes, and is my own results is as tested, AVX is present in windows or my machine have issues. I have a hero IX with all updates including new updates from my board from asus. all programs are updated. and i am not using aisuite, and my gputweak still have the documented issue so far.

These are my findings regarding MY own computer test.

Please some of the pro users can validate these using avx to 3 and avx to 0? THESE IS INTERESTING RESULTS. as my testing in my machine AVX is present on windows/intel updates and microcode.
