Win 10 Install Problem with RAID

Hi,

i got a problem with my APEX: I build up 2 M2 Samsung 960 EVO with Stripe-Set 0 as descriped in Manual. Then i downloaded the RST-Driver to USB and can load it during install-process. The RAID appears in the device list. But the NEXT-Button is greyed out and the following message appears: "Windows is unable to install to the selected location. Error: 0x80300001."

Can u help? Please 😉

Make sure you make the new drive first in the boot order in the bios setting under boot, unplug all other SATA drives before loading windows then try again. Hopefully you have the right RAID driver on the USB drive.

Hi,

the device does not appear in the boot-options-list. I have not loaded the driver ASUS provided (15.2.0.1020), because with this the RAID does not appear in the device-list during win 10 install. With the RST Version 15.2.10.1044 all works fine. Driver appears and after loading them the RAID appears, too. I unplugged all other devices, but the same error occurs. 😞

Other Infos: I want to install win 10 pro via DVD and the RAID driver is on an USB-Drive...what makes me confus: This stick appears als Drive C...could this be a problem?

Everything I've read indicates that Windows 10 will not install to anything other than a C drive so yes, the USB being tagged as C drive is an issue. Need to change the drive letters accordingly. The USB drive needs to be formatted FAT32 from everything I've read.

Hey,

RAID and Win 10 Pro is running!!!

The following led to success:

- Building Array as said here: https://rog.asus.com/articles/guides/how-to-install-two-m2-ssds-in-raid-0-on-maximus-ix-motherboards...
- Download Win 10 Pro ISO and put it with Rufus on an USB-Stick (initialized with GPT UEFI Mode)
- Download RST-Driver 15.2.10.1044 and put them on the same Stick
- Change the following BIOS settings: Fast Boot disbled, Secure Boot disabled, OS Type Windows UEFI Mode, CSM enabled and under this: Network ignore, Storage UEFI
first, Expansion UEFI first
- unplugged all other SATA Devices
- then i was able to boot from stick, load the RST-Drivers and install Win on RAID-Array

Shouldnt be an issue.
Im using IRST 15.2.10.1044 on M9F board.
Did you make the USB as a UEFI with the microsoft media creator tool?
Its not going to show up as a boot drive until you install a boot partion on it that happens during the OS install.
Should be able to just make the USB install drive with media creation tool, put a folder on the drive after with the IRST driver, point to it during the install as you have already described, driver loads then selecting it should load the OS.

Only thing it can be is corrupted or incorrect IRST driver. Make sure you have the correct version. Or one or both of trhe drives coud bad or the board they mount on. You might want to try reseating the Dimm M2 board. Only thing after that is the mobo.

with the Media Creation Tool all my USB-Drives were not recognizable...later i will give Rufus-Tool a try and post the results here.

Can u name another possible driver? BIOS shows 15.2.0.2740 as a version. And driver is 15.2.10.1044 - so it's matching, i think.
