ROG MAXIMUS IX HERO and RTX 2070

Hi guys and girls,

I've just got an EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 XC ULTRA GAMING, but it won't show picture on my monitor. RGB is working and the fans are spinning.
I have the latest BIOS 1301. My Q-display shows 30 and there is light in the VGA led.

As soon as I use my old card, everything works.

Any idea other than trying it in another pc? I can't do that atm.

30 is a code that means the PC has woken from S3sleep.

Maybe try the old turn off the PC and turn on again...but make sure it shuts down...not sleeps.

You could clear CMOS

You could also install old GPU. Use DDU to uninstall Nvidia driver (disconnect internet so windows doesn't try to update driver)...and then shutdown and swap out the card and install fresh Nvidia driver with new GPU.

Thx for the tips.

About the Q-display 30, I figured as much after I this post. It was just weird, because I choose Shutdown Windows and pulled the power from the computer entirely.
Anyway, about 20 min in my troubleshooting, I tried an HDMI cable and booted a couple of times and wupti, Windows came to life on my monitor.

I loaded default settings in bios, rebooted and now I'm gaming via Displayport again 😄

Nice one!

It should be straightforward to swap but I guess waking from sleep, the PC was trying to apply stuff for the old GPU and getting confused...glad it's up and running now.:)

since is all ready on. get the drivers and download. Then download DDU, and extract the files.

here is a kick. Disconect from the internet, remove the RJ45 cable (is you are wired) so windows DO NOT INSTALL anything.

Boot on safe mode. remove the AMD/NVIDIA stuff with DDU and reboot. install drivers and presto.

THEN you can cone ct the internet cable back.
