Need help with some overclocking

Hi I'm trying to oc my system a little bit and need some advice*

My specs: motherboard: Formula ix
CPU: 7700k
CPU cooler: Corsair h110i Gtx
RAM: Dominator® Platinum Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4 DRAM 2400MHz C14 Memory Kit (CMD32GX4M4A2400C14)
GPU: SLI 1080 strix
PSU: EVGA 850w


So far my overclocking looks like this

XMP 2667mhz 14-16-16-35-1 1.35v
All cores 4.6ghz
SVID SUPORT: DISABLED
CPU core/cache current limit max: 255.50
CPU cache ratio: 4.6ghz
Manual core/cache voltage: 1.23 max
CPU VCCIO voltage: 1.18750
CPU system agent voltage: 1.18750 * *


CPU Power Magament control

intel speed step: Disable
CPU C states: Disable
CFG Look: Disable
Intel speed shift technology: Disable
Boot performance mode: Turbo performance*



My external Digi+ power control settings:

CPU load line calibration: level 7
CPU current capability: 140%
CPU vrm switching frequencicy: 500KHz
CPU power duty control: EXTREME
CPU power phase control: EXTREME
DRAM current Capability: 130%
DRAM power phase control: EXTREME
DRAM switching frequency: 500KHz



Everything's looks and seem to run ok but I have encountered a problem

I set my ram to XMP 2667mhz 14-16-16-35-1 1.35v and then using the drop down menu I set ram to 2900mhz and select manual DRAM voltage of 1.4v all seem to run ok but I want a nice and clean round number and I tried set it to 3000mhz but system won't boot it starts but just hangs there I have tried VICCIO and system agent voltage 1.20v and maximus tweak 2 but still no boot.


DO I need to push something harder or change ram settings more or are my ram already frying it's self since it's supposed to run. Ihave corsair dominator platinum airflow fan running 4000rpm mode so I don't think heat is a issue.

PS DRAM voltage is purple does this mean I'm blowing up my ram? Same with VICCIO and system agent it's yellow does this mean I'm on the edge just wondering cuz I always had white numbers.


Finally does all the abow settings look safe ?*

I'm a bit confused ref. the RAM....that kit is a 2400MHz kit right? you say XMP 2667...does it have an XMP profile for this?

For a 2400 kit 3000 is a substantial OC and you might have to relax timings...like 15-15-15 or 16-16-16

I would not worry about DRAM voltage even up to 1.4V....maybe you would have to try a bit more vccio and/or vccsa to get this working...my XMP 3200 ram sets 1.22 vccio and 1.2 vccsa....I'm not sure if that's high for this platform...have to ask about that...

OCing RAM for most things is not going to gain you much

OCing the CPU will....you might have more fun and more real gain tuning that 😉

Yes the ram have xmp profile *for 2400mhz using diferent timings and 1.2v and it has xmp for 2666mhz with diferent timings and 1.35v.


2900mhz works fine with my current settings but when I do 3000mhz it won't work any more *

OK..that's kinda cool...

Well maybe 3000 is a step too far but keep tweaking...maybe relax cas 14 to 15 or 16? but compare performance of 2900 with current settings and 3000 with relaxed timings and you might find you are better off staying at 2900

Funny in aida64 Extreme I get hardware failure test stoped when I try to do stress test but realbench passes 10h and prime95 pass10 hour and after all I'm just overclocking by like 100mgz stock 4.5 to 4.6ghz and cache 4.2ghz to 4.6ghz that she not big oc weird Aida give that problem maybe just bug cuz Aida have not been updated for along time maybe it's not supporting 7700k cuz the program is not even showing voltage and or stuff like VICCIO *

Nop don't work guess that's as hard I can push it but ya xmp 2666mhz to 2900mhz without altering 14.14.14 timings ain't that bad*

If it passes RealBench then you are good...yes, AIDA needs updating

Safe?...safe is stock...but with that said...looks OK to me 🙂

Ya paste and mount his good I use therma grizzly. *About system agent and VICCIO ain't it to high ? Sould I lower it I tried 1.16750 and seems to work fine.


Realbench stress test pass but when I use benchmark father test finished I get error " unable to properly parade system specs. Please report to realbench forum" what this mean*

You should focus on ocing the cpu first keeping ram at default...

Temps are bit on the high side even with a realy low 1.23 load volt*

Prime95 max temp 85c with AVX using no AVX downgrade
Realbench 70-75c ish. Is this not high for a H110i Gtx in pushpull 3000noctua black fans also considering I have 16x 140mm corsair MLF fans *
