I have an Asus Rog Z270F mother board, i7 6700 non K cpu, Ripjaw 3000 mhz DDR 4 RAM, Zotac RTX 3070 Amp Holo graphics card.
I have got this mobo recently, because my previous Z170 motherboard died.
Because my RAM can run at higher speed and I want it to run, so I applied XPM profile in BIOS.
But this makes my CPU to run at full clock speed even when idle in Balance Power mode, but when I turn Power savings mode, it goes down to 818 mhz. Balanced profile has Minimum processor state set to 5% just like Power saving mode.
I wanted to know if there is a way to overclock my RAM to XMP and still make my CPU go to 818 mhz when idle in Balanced mode?
I also want to overclock my CPU if possible without damaging any hardware.
I have got a decent cpu cooler and large case.
