I am embarrassed to say I do not game with my computer or overclock it. As I mentioned also I tried running the memory at the default 2100 speed and not use xmp and it still crashed with the new 1009 bios and the other newer bios. But I today went back to using xmp with the the old bios and everything is working great. So I do not have anything to complain about except the new bios update which made my system crash. To me it says the new bios is just not right. But I would love to hear your guys thoughts that have much more experience than I do. Even my screen saver is now working with the 0701 bios, sleep is working, bluetooth working that originally did not and prompted me to upgrade. Just hoping my experience might be able to help some out there.

I ended up getting my pc working with 0801 after rolling back from 1009.

To recap:
-Installed Win 10 OEM Builder version onto M.2 SSD
-Wiped 2 SSDs connected via SATA, moved data files to M.2 SSD
-updated BIOS to 1009 from 0906
-Would turn off during post at exactly the same time when cold booted
-Used EZ Flash 2 to roll back to 0906 - PC had boot issues at post, could not boot
-Used EZ Flash 2 to roll back to 0801 - PC had boot issues at post, could not boot
-Wiped M.2 SSD using Secure Delete in BIOS
-Installed Win 10 Home version (still with BIOS 0801)
-No issues with post, boot, sleep, ram frequencies, wifi, bluetooth; no freezes or hangs. I'm not updating it anymore.

Just updated to BIOS 1009 for my Z270E yesterday. The mobo turn on/off 3 times after the firmware update before really booting. Everything is working fine like before. CPU OC (4.8) and RAM XMP are still stable as before on 0906. The motherboard seems hotter by 1-2'C, but that's a small price to pay to fix that Intel CPU bug.

Maximus IX Hero user here. I've been trying for a long time the 1009 bios version now, and I can say that for my system, everything works except for 2 things:

1-XMP profile for my RAM is very unstable. Enough to randomly give me BSOD on boot. Sometimes works fine, and others it takes 3 tries to properly boot Windows 10. If I disable XMP profile, everything works fine.

2-My Logitech Unifying devices, Mouse and Keyboard tend to lag randomly. I've tried every USB port, and its the same behaviour. Some days works fine, others it's nightmare of de-synchronization. No other USB devices, like Xbox wireless adapter, or Bluetooth seems to be affected. Only Logitech's devices.

I hope ASUS looks into these problems.

UPDATE: Well, It's been 5 days now since I disabled XMP profile and no sign of BSOD so far. I've been playing games, compiling stuff, compressing video or even updating Windows 10 build, and not a single BSOD showed up. Then I guess, seeing that there's plenty of people in this forum complaining of similar problems, I'm confident saying that XMP mode is very unstable. I'm not gonna say that it's fully broken, because it clearly works for many people, but, for a vast quantity of people is giving trouble. Please, Asus, look into this as soon as posible.

1. Did you manually set the System Agent and VCCIO voltages when using XMP profile?
2. I have an Logitech Performace MX wireless mouse and Logitech K800 keyboard. Both of them use own Unifying receiver and don't have any lag with my Z270H on BIOS 1009.

1-Yes, I did raise VCCIO and SA voltage manually. To be specific, I raised them to about 1.15v, which is suposed to be the normal volts for 2400Mhz Mems. I also tested vdrop and as I have LLC at setting 6, vccio and SA does not drop, in fact, stays a little higher, about 1.16v at load. With this settings, I had less random BSOD, but they were still happening later.

2-Logitech failure may be some interference in my end, but it's weird it never happened before.

I have a 4 months old self build PC with a z270e MB and with 2x8GB g-skill Trident Z RGB 3200mhz CL 16.18.18.38 and i have just updated to 1009

I'm beginning to have problems with my system is gets BSOD's when i activate XMP 😞
I ran a memtest86+ because i though there was a bad ram stick and one of them gets test 7 error in port 1B, test 9 and 10 errors in 2B, when the XMP are active.
No errors at all when bios is set to default optimized settings and the ram runs at 2133mhz.

what is wrong and what can i do to get my system stabil again at 3200mhz.

I will try that in a few days. let me see if that happen to me! since I also have 3200mhz. BUT i did not happen with 6700k but maybe is a BSOD like. but i have to test. I check windows (before the crap creator update) and was fine but sometimes I can perceive a most BSOD. I run the app that recollect info. but does not show any irregularities aside windows issues con hello or crap windows applicacion.
