New bios version 1009 has been released for most of the z270 boards. Lets collect our feedback here.

You better ask technical support. Let's see how they will solve the problem)))
But this is certainly complete insanity, a motherboard of this class should first of all receive an update, and only then all the other mb.

I have to give them some credit, whatever they fixed in this update, my PC is now running much smoother and boot time did improve quite a bit. This is how it should of been from Day 1.

Just noticed this after BIOS update, and hadn't noticed it before, but PC will shut off during splashscreen. No progress wheel or anything. When I switch it back on it usually works but it's weird that it just shuts off like that. I think it could be this BIOS. Not sure.

But there are still some bugs... eg:
Cannot disable EIST.
After disabling SVID Support there is a double start, If you disconnect the system from the mains.
These problems for many years, even before z170/z270. do the engineers of Asus blind....

Only updated my bios last night (late o clock) so not had time to really have a good look but...

Anyone else using the Apex and updated to latest version notice the adaptive volts going a lot higher than before?

I use to pop in 1.26V into the CPU core volt section and it use to up this to 1.26xxx Volts but now in HW monitor is states its at 1.29xxx volts.

I countered this by popping in 1.22 Volts. I think there is a adaptive increment setting which I have to set, at the moment that is auto - perhaps I should change that but wanted to see if anyone else had this issue.

Obviously the temps got a wee bit hotter as the core volt is higher. I really should have noted down what my other volts for LLC and what not were as these were set to auto and might have been altered as well in the latest revison.

I'll pop in my none adaptive settings which I use for my 5Ghz and see what happens.

Apart from this things seem to work but not had time to play games. Just used Prime95, Intel burn test, Heaven etc to bench it for a short period of time to ensure things aren't completely out of wack.

Hi everyone,
Would appreciate any thoughts. I just finished my first new computer build:

My setup:
Intel i7 7700k,
Asus Maximus IX Formula Mother board , BIOS 0906
G Skill Trident 2 x 16GB DDR4 RAM @ 3200MHz using XMP
2 Samsung 960 EVO M.2 SSD Raid 1 on both board slots (worried about heat but so far at 40C)
Prime Titanium 650W PSU

I have been disappointed so far. Started using original bios but could not get Bluetooth to work. Also sleep and screen saver did not work. I updated to newest bios 0906 2 days ago and then the computer would keep crashing, seemed when using youtube Chrome, Firefox, and Vivaldi or a drop down menu web page on these browsers. Tried to slow memory to default speed did not help and Bluetooth still did not work. After trying for 2 days I gave up and went to most recent bios 0801, also crashed then finally went to original bios 0701. It is working well and now the Bluetooth is working. Have not tried XMP yet but will do so tomorrow.
