I had the same issue (SVN 0 and "System vulnerable") after running the update tool.

EDIT 2:
See HWiNFO developer's answer -->here<--

Thanks for this info. I am also running the latest HWInfo, and after I did what you posted, I get a "not vulnerable" report.

I'm just gonna wait for the next bios release for my maximus hero viii, seems like too many non direct ways to update rn and too many hoops to jump through. Should be as easy as a bios update first and then updating to the latest mei drivers in windows.

Little update for users using HWiNFO.

The developer has released a beta version that resolves the conflict with the Intel Detection Tool.

Ok I feel dumb for missing it, but on the 22nd of November Asus posted a tool in the bios section of support and drivers. By simply first updating the MEI drivers and then running the MEI firmware updater tool, Intel tool now reports my system is not vulnerable.

Any chance of getting the ME Update tool working for us Maximus IX Apex owners? It's still not listed on the support page and I can't use the other versions.

ASUS's FAQ on the issue doesn't even list the Maximus IX Apex as a board affected, but the intel detection tool definitely says it has a problem. Why is the Apex always weeks behind when it comes to updates/fixes and releases?

Dual BIOS boards will get an update, too. Just needs a tool capable of doing it. Expect it within the next 1-2 weeks.

Any ETA update to this?

No. Our guys are still waiting on Intel to take the ME FW update out of test status. Probably a few more weeks.

Update ME version to 11.8.50.3399
