7700K Adaptive voltage vs Manual + C-States?

My 7700K is stable at 1.130v manual, but when I use adaptive voltage I have to offset by -0.1v because the Vcore overshoots big time in Windows, and even despite this, the maximum vcore still reaches +0.045v. I could offset even lower but offsetting by -0.1v already lowers the minimum voltage to 0.6v, and I'm not sure how safe this is. My board is Formula IX. I've tried playing with LLC but even at level 2, the overshoot is substantial.

So what do you guys recommend? Should I stick to manual with C-States or use Adaptive with an even bigger -offset? Is it safe to run a constant manual voltage on your CPU? Is a minimum voltage of 0.6v safe?

Hi Mayh3m

As long as you're stable with adaptive mode 0.600v is fine for idle voltage, Intel says lowest idle voltage is 0.550v.

Just below the max voltage is the idle voltage.

It's safe to run in manual mode too whichever you prefer.
