Did you mean:

XHCI hand off mode, disable or not on an all/only USB 3 Board ?

Maximus VIII Impact Z170 board bios.

in the bios I noticed that the USB XHCI hands off mode thing is set to disabled as default, but I think I had a look at the enable option and bios says (i think) XHCI should be owned/enabled in reality, I presume thats right is it ?

In other words, enabled will do what ?

and disabled will do what ?

Thanks guys.

P.S, please keep in mind my new system is only usb 3.0, there are no usb2 ports at all although I obviously have a couple of usb2 external devices.

doesnt that mean usb 3 devices using the usb3 sockets wont get full usb3 sup;erfast speed ?

i thought the point of the xhci thing was to mimic usb2 devices but then you only get usb2 sp;eeds, no ?
