Who is running RAM from the QVL list? Problems or no problems?

I've seen people run ram not on the QVL list without any problems, as well as many people having issues with the Z170 boards.

Can people post here and state simply what issues they're having and their ram, and if it's on the QVL list or not? Problems seem common across the boards

I'm at stock settings, no OC, Hero and Hero Alpha had issues

Issues:
-Audio pops from audio channels opening/closing with realtek/asus drivers only
-USB devices sometimes not detected on startup
-Q Code 00 once in awhile

RAM:
-G.SKILL F4-3000C15D-16GVR
-2x8GB sticks
-Reviews seem to be good though and some reviewers use it on the Hero without issues.

This ram is NOT on the QVL list.

However, seen many complaints here about running Ripjaws 4 on Z170 ROG boards.

Yeah I too would prefer RAM made for Z170 rather than risk it. I've said it before and I'll say it again, it feels that only Corsair just split up their quad channel RAM into dual kits but I could be wrong. I don't know the differences between memory made only for Z170 and those made for both Z170 and X99.

On a side note, finding Ripjaws V or Trident Z here in the Netherlands or the UK is almost impossible, weird!

Update:

My F4-3000C15D-16GVR kit is now running the first real memory overclock I've done in many years (yes I know that DDR4-3000 is overclocked, but this is beyond those specs). I'm starting slowly as I don't want to upset the balance I've achieved with my existing CPU and GPU overclocks. I've got it using the Samsung 2x8GB Double-Sided 3200 1.50v preset timings but running it at 1.35v. My 6600K CPU is at 4700MHz on 1.425v (yeah, I've got a crappy chip) with the Ring at 4500MHz. IO and SA are on Auto. My GTX 980 Ti is running at 1450MHz core and 7000MHz memory with just the 110% power target and no over-volting. I would go higher on the core and the memory can easily do 8000MHz, but I already hit the 110% ceiling at these settings in games.

The system just got done passing an eight-hour run of ASUS RealBench testing 16GB. It had already passed a two-hour Prime95 v28.7 Small FFT run as well as a two-hour Blend run. It has also succeeded at a two-pass Windows memory diagnostic run, but I don't know how effective a tester that really is.

After I get done downloading Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak, I'll be doing some real game testing with that and HomeWorld Remastered and probably some MechWarrior Online and TERA.

I'm going to copy my post from another thread here as it applies to this thread as much as the other.

I'm running the Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR4-2800 Quad Channel Kit. CMK16GX4M4A2800. This is on the QVL. Running XMP just fine. Not the tightest timings or fastest memory, but very stable. Perfect for the gaming rig I built for my son that needs to be super stable.

FYI, I went with this memory because it was on the QVL and I needed a rock stable choice without much tweaking. If you study the QVL it appears 4GB modules do better (in either X2 or X4 configuration) than the 8GB modules. I originally had the Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2666 CMK16GX4M2A2666 but swapped them before installation after seeing numerous complaints on the net that this kit was not playing nice with Z170 mobos.

I think the QVL on the Z170 mobos might be a little more relevant than usual. As new memory comes out I think the QVL may be less important. But for now it seems some of the DDR4 kit that ran well on X99 may not automatically play well on Z170 (or better said on the Skylake IMC).

I've had problems with Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX Black Series 4x4GB, 2666 MHz, 15 CL - CMK16GX4M4A2666C15 (not on compatibility list posted by Corsair, by the way)
Now i have CMK16GX4M4A2400C14 (listed on corsair compatibility list) and all is good.

Running 16GB (2x8) 3200MHz TridentZ [F4-3200C16D-16GTZ] at default XMP, and using the New Samsung Single-Side settings available in BIOS which puts it at 3200MHz 15-16-16-28 1.35V.

Seems to work perfectly.
