Intel is releasing several new CPU's, most are 2 core models, a couple have no iGPU, unless you are purchasing one of these new CPU's there is probably no need to worry about a bios upgrade, otherwise I am sure the bios is released soon, they never release a bios update across every model at the exact same time

bios 1402 has been avail;able since yesterday but i havent tried it yet, I am one of these people that just like the very lastest version of bios installed but I was wondering, has anyone tried 1402 yet and is there much differences, I cant find any details on it within the internet ??

P.S, all it says next to the download is "MAXIMUS VIII IMPACT BIOS 1402
Update Microcode and improve system compatibility."

what does Update Microcode and improve system compatibility mean in real terms though ??

It's for the minor AVX 512 Skylake 'bug' (it's not really a bug, it's just not supported and never was).
