VIII Hero Alpha M2 EVO960 PCIE not at full speed looking for help

I have run in to a snag and I figured among all of your brilliant minds out there, someone must know what I am doing wrong.

I installed an EVO 960 500GB M2 drive. It should top out a 3200 MB/s read speed but it is stuck at 2000 MB/s.

My best guess is that my PCIe 3.0 M2 is only running at PCIe 2.0 speed.

I have already installed Samsungs 2.0 NVMe drivers so I have the latest drivers available.

I am using one GTX1070 in the PCIEX16/X8_1 slot

I am using one Soundblaster Titanium HD in the PCIEX1_3 slot ( I removed this card just to see if it would do any difference but no)

So I assume it is a Bios setting that is wrong.

Can someone with some VIII Hero Alpha Bios knowledge elaborate around their bios setting for the M2 drive.

I know it is something simple but just can't figure it out

Asus VIII Hero Alpha bios 2202,
i7-6700K @ 4.8Ghz
Trident Z 3400
Asus GTX 1070
EVO 960 500GB
2 sata EVO 850 drives 1.5T

there is nothing wrong, your SSD will not hit 3200MB/s, that's only theoretical specifications. go read up the numerous reviews on your SSD, and look at their benchmark figures.

Check again, Everyone else with a similar motherboard are getting read speeds around 3000MB/s to 3600MB/s

I have the same SSD, wondering if you made any adjustments.

I used the latest Samsung Magician and AS SSD Benchmark

Have you enabled NVMe booting in the UEFI instead of Auto Detect or Legacy?

If using Windows 10 leave prefetch enabled.

Set page file to custom with min and max the recommended amount.

Update to Samsung 2.1 drivers

Clean your system out with CCleaner and Clean Master.
