2nd motherboard. ( Returned Maximus VIII Hero Alpha) code. .. I forget
Same Skylake 6700K CPU.
Nothing displayed on screen using onboard graphics HDMI connection.
History.
Successfully installed Windows 10 from USB to Samsung 950 M.2
Ran Windows for approximately 1 hour
Ran Prime95 Torture test on a 4.5Ghz overclock at 1.35V core
Errors, then blue screen of death.
Noctuna NH-D15s air cooler reached 93 degrees. Scary but within limits.
Since then it's gone backwards, 50+ reboots on the Maxiumus VIII Hero Alpha
Hacking with bios/unfit settings. Bear in mind a Win 10 install from USB to M.2 is not trivial so I learned a lot!
Eventually reached code D4 .. I forget ... So many codes ..
Ordered a Z170 Deluxe MB and installed the same CPU in that ( Maximus VIII Hero Alpha sent back in RMA)
Code 62 & VGA MB light red. No graphics card installed, using on-board graphics.
Ordered another Skylake ( lake of what? S**T)
I was really really careful about the CPU install.
I have used 2 MB
I checked the MB CPU pins (will upload picture later)
I am going to install a 2nd COU.
What does it take?
Did I burn out my CPU at 4.5Ghz and 1.35V core and 93degrees?
I almost hope so.
This is a 2,400 euro system ( did I mention the Asus Strix 980Ti giving 4K gaming on my old 2600 system while it waits to
Migrate to the new one.
Pre-installed CPUs tested in motherboards ...,. I would pay!
