Sound skipping when playing games

My set up is:
Hero Viii
980TI
I7-6700K 4,00Ghz
16 gig ram

When I play games my sound skips and cuts in and out. Im not sure what the issue is or how to fix it.

Yes I am. After some investigation: My GPU seems to lose power as a game. Just now I played for 2 hrs and my FPS starting to drop between 20-30 FPS. I turned on after burner and it had the GPU power at 10%. I ran furmark at the same time but that said the GPU was running at full power. Not sure what to think or what the issue here is.

Edit: Im almost positive its not a gpu issue. I ran 3d mark and my score was good. Here is the link: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/12268489
