Sound out of sync on MAXIMUS VIII RANGER

I have just recently build a system and notices that the sound is slightly out of sync with videos and cut scenes in-game.

I have installed all drivers and flashed BIOS to 1402 (newest).

What can i do to fix this? Maybe a new soundcard can fix this?

I have:
Asus Maximus VIII Ranger
Asus GeForce GTX 980 Ti Strix Gaming DirectCU III OC HDMI 3xDP 6GB
Asus ROG Swift PG279Q
Intel Core i7 6700K 4,0GHz Socket 1151
Samsung 950 Pro Series MZ-V5P512BW 512GB (M.2 NVme)
Corsair Vengeance LPX Black DDR4 PC21300/2666MHz CL16 2x8GB

Let's hope it's the cable that's causing the latency, that will be an easy fix if it is. 🙂

Something you can try in the meantime is changing the channel on your modem.

I dont have or need a modem, just a router is needed (if i want to connect more than one device, otherwise i can just connect an ethernet cable straight into the wall9.

I talked about the problem with a friend and he said it was extremely unlikely to the the fault of the network cable, the router, my speakers..

So the problem he though it was is: software/config issues, windows 10 drivers are not good enough or the problem is in my imagination.

Did you show him the Latencymon test?

No. An other thing, since DP carry sound maybe that somehow causes this for me?

Reinstalled the sound and network drivers on my old computer and the DPC latency went from 6500 us to 203 us.

That sounds much better, is the sound in sync now?

Something else to try is disabling HPET (High Precision Event Timer)
