Hi Fury,
thx for your reply. Yes, as my title states I've tried numerous drives; 4 different USB drives of different brands both USB 2 and 3, an USB harddrive and my wifes phone aswell.
I went into BIOS last evening and made sure that the Asmedia chip was Enabled. I tried to see if disabling/enabling Charging would make a difference, none.
I tried 3 different drivers aswell and none of them helped.
The ASMedia USB3.1 eXtensible Host Controller and root hub is installed according to Device Manager. There *is* something going on with the port since my phone is charging from it, but Windows won't detect any drives!
I feel I've tried everything in my power atm.
I haven't tried to flash previous BIOS and I would rather wait with that until I've tried everything I can with the help of you guys.
I'm beginning to think that the port is just borked eventhough power runs through it.
