ROG Maximus VIII Hero Alpha Ram problems.

My first post and my first ROG motherboard.
Asus ROG Maximus VIII Hero Alpha Motherboard. 2x Kingston HyperX Savage DDR4 2800MHz 16BG KIT total 32GB Ram.

The problem is. Everything works fine until I'll try to play a game.
Then everything seems fine, but after a few minutes I get FPS drop's.
Have tried XMP Profile 1 and 2, manually set timings and voltage. And other settings in the bios, but nothing seems to help.
I always loade optimal defults before changing settings in bios. Some settings seems to speed up windows, like faster startup and faster startup for games. I have newer had a BSOD with the ROG motherboard.
Have also tryed 1,2 and 4 ram chip sepratly and in difrent ram slot's.

I had a Saberthooth Z170 Motherboard and used the same ram, but this motherboard was DOA and I got RMA.
Is it posible this motherboard did some thing bad with my ram modules?

Thank you in advance for your help 🙂

I'm doubtful memory issues are causing a drop in FPS. More typical behavior for ram issues are freezes, crashes, BSODs, and OS corruption. That said, make sure your memory is on the QVL for your motherboard. That is ALWAYS a very important rule. Once you wander off the QVL stability is never guaranteed.

For your specific issue, I would monitor your GPU temps while gaming. It looks like you are throttling.

New ram did help a lot. With 32Gb of ram i did get a score of 2900 points: http://www.3dmark.com/fs/7194448
And with 16Gb of ram i did get a score of 3827 points: http://www.3dmark.com/fs/7194217

This is a bit strange that i got better preformance with 16GB ram, and lower with 32GB of ram. But stil better than before. I'll may try to install a new fres instalation of windows, what do you think?

Skylake DDR4 memory scaling I suppose.

A fresh installation of Windows does more good than harm 😄

After a fresh Windows 10 Pro x64 installation. The pc make that sound a dirty record player makes, or like a cracked CD, when playing games.
Nothing installed from ASUS. Just a clean install with the newest drivers.
