ROG Maximus VIII Hero Alpha Ram problems.

My first post and my first ROG motherboard.
Asus ROG Maximus VIII Hero Alpha Motherboard. 2x Kingston HyperX Savage DDR4 2800MHz 16BG KIT total 32GB Ram.

The problem is. Everything works fine until I'll try to play a game.
Then everything seems fine, but after a few minutes I get FPS drop's.
Have tried XMP Profile 1 and 2, manually set timings and voltage. And other settings in the bios, but nothing seems to help.
I always loade optimal defults before changing settings in bios. Some settings seems to speed up windows, like faster startup and faster startup for games. I have newer had a BSOD with the ROG motherboard.
Have also tryed 1,2 and 4 ram chip sepratly and in difrent ram slot's.

I had a Saberthooth Z170 Motherboard and used the same ram, but this motherboard was DOA and I got RMA.
Is it posible this motherboard did some thing bad with my ram modules?

Thank you in advance for your help 🙂

Try uninstalling Sonic Studio and reverting back to the default Windows audio driver for testing. Also, did you test your system with a single monitor?

I have the sam problems after uninstalling Sonic Studio and reverting back to the default Windows audio.
Have also disable CPU Throtteling (CPU/Cashe Current Limit Max to 255.50 in Bios). Al other power saving modes was Disabled by defult in bios.
Also turned all Windows Power settings to maximum (100% in power management).

Same problem with only 1 monitor.

Did call my PC retailer, and them will change my ram to ram with only JEDEC. The ram i have today do have XMP profile, the new one will not have XMP profil. Them belive this can be the case of my problems. This I hope fixes my problems.
What do you think?

Have you tried different Nvidia drivers?

You may have GPU throttling, what are your GPU temps during gaming?
In the NVCP, set "Prefer Maximum Performance" versus Adaptive.
Intel i9 10850K@ 5.3GHz

Corsair H115i Pro XT

GPU temp when gaming Dying Light is from 74 to 76 celsius.
Did not help to set "Prefer Maximum Performance" versus Adaptive.

From what I can tell from your results, your GPU is definately underperforming. The ASUS GTX 780 DC2 should be scoring around the 4400 mark in the graphics score. Try cleaning the PCIe lane with compressed air and reseating your GPU. Also swap the PCIe cables for others.

I remember you mentioning running Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. Is it a fresh installation?

The motherboard, CPU and ram is brand new, and I did polish the PCI express connector on the graphic card before installing it to the new motherboard. But shure I give it a try.

A fresh Windows 10 was installed on Thursday 7 last week. It was the day this computer was build.

It did not help to clean the PCIe lane with compressed air and reseating the GPU, and change PCIe cabels. 😞

But the new Ram kit from my pc retailer wil most likely come in the mail tomorrow. 🙂
It may help, but I'm not shure. I'll have to wait and see.

Thanks for all your help, really appreciate it. Thank you.
