My mobo is a Hero VIII, using an old bios version 1504 will this be the reason?, the 970 is recognised correctly and runs at NVME speeds, Just doesn't display S.M.A.R.T disk information ,(I purposly have not updated the bios, to aviod introducing new issues as well as the performance hit ) from the update to protect against eternal blue ect, exploits that probably did not even exist in the wild scare mongering it's how they control the masses imo
