Hello

Few days ago I bought i7 6700k, Asus Maximus VIII Ranger and Hyper X Savage Black 2800 CL14 (2x8). After build I started few tests.
OCCT says:

https://zapodaj.net/2328bf1931338.jpg.html
https://zapodaj.net/9e1e37bc8abbb.jpg.html

In games (Witcher 3, GTA V, WoW) teps are near 66 C, sometimes for a 1 sec 70-72 (but really sometimes)

My bios setup is default, only set XMP for rams becouse in default was 2133 🙂

My cooler is Thermalright Macho Rev. B + Arctic MX-2, case - Fractal Define R5, Gigabyte 980 windforce 3. In case i have standard 2 fans.

In my last PC (before 6700k) 3770k, asus p8z77v-pro, hyper x blu (2x4) temps in occt was lower by 10-20 C and in games lower by 5-15 C (depends when)

I had a nice offer and I bought Noctua NH-D15, in few days ill got it and we will see. But now should i warries? or i need to do something in bios?
Many ppl said 6700k got high voltages in bioss and they told me to change to adaptive mode, change voltages and LLC. I'm totaly noob for change voltages and i dont want burn and crash something and i need to ask you what to do for best setup for this i7.
This will be good?

If i lower a voltage to 1,200 i dont lose a power?
If someone can help me and show me how to do it from beginning (maybe on screens) to set the best and safies... will be good 🙂

Thanks a lot for any help and sorry for my english

PS when ill instal Noctua shall i stay with Arctic mx-2 or use noctua nt-h1?

In a future i want OC it but first i nned to learn about it 🙂

Hi Zawisha

Welcome to the ROG fprum.

You can set a lower voltage in adaptive mode if you wish.

On the extreme tweaker tab set the cpu core/cache voltage to adaptive, then enter 1.20v in " Additional Turbo Mode".

F10 and Enter to save and exit, try a game and monitor your cpu temps.

Are they any lower?

Thanks for answer, when I'll back to home I check.
BTW Change only 1,20v in additional turbo mode? What about LLC and offset +0,005? change it or doesnt matter?

Today ill install noctua cooler also and we will see how higt temps i have 🙂
