Did you mean:

PWM + DC fans same time

Hi, I have a VIII Hero.

If I have 2 PWM case fans and 2 regular case fans, can the motherboard control both with Qfan?

I mean, can it run the PWM fans in PWM mode, and control the other 2 with voltage regulation?

Or do I have to run them all in DC mode? Or maybe the PWM fans in PWM mode, but the DC fans will have to run at full speed?

Sorry if my questions are unclear. Just wondering if I have to get 4 PWM fans, or if I can properly use my old DC fans together with 2 PWM fans.

Thanks.

Yes, As Chino said different types have to be on different headers and you select the type of fan for each header under the monitoring tab in the BIOS

Cheers, thanks guys.

I will use 4 fans and there are 4 headers, should be good 😉

Yep, you are good. You can run multiple fans off the same header if its easier, they just have to be the same type.
IMO once you go PWM you don't go back! LOL Much better speed control and a lot quieter. Worth the extra $$!!
