I have encountered a problem with a new computer I build using the Maximus VIII Gene Micro-ATX motherboard and Windows 10 Home Edition.
For the first PCIE 3.0 Slot I have a Radeon R9 380 graphics card.
I wanted to install a 1x PCIe wireless card in the PCI Express x4 slot, but when I did this, Windows 10 would immediately disable the card on startup. It would show up as disabled with Device Manager Error 10 - Code 45. The wifi card is a Gigabyte GC-WB867D-I REV 4.2.
When I installed the wifi card in the second PCIE 3.0 Slot, Windows 10 recognized it and I can now use it fine.
Is there a way to make the wifi card work in the PCI Express x4 slot?
Thanks.
