And for the record, 3504 is not full of problems. It may have problems for users of certain components in certain configurations but a dozen people complaining about issues does not mean a release is "full of problems". I use 3504 and have no issue at all and the release is still available because it works for most users. .

As a free tip for those with issues applying even a simple ME update - stop installing junk unverified drivers from station-drivers and win-raid and use the tested validated releases on your next board. Things run much smoother that way.

It gets tiring reading of the same people continually having problems when their history shows them using unverified drivers. Kids always think they know better.

What stichcs said about is this safe, should of been better asked is this STABLE!
Look don't take me wrong anyone, I'm not saying if there's some really bad security issues/exploits going on, then we shouldn't be looking at doing an update.
What concerns me is this, I'm Geek enough to know that I don't need to jump the second an update comes out, running around like the house was on fire.
There's also something everyone here, I'm wondering if you realize or not? This is suppose to be a Security Update, correct?
Security first has to start with you, the end-user, firewalls, antivirus, malware protection etc...
If you don't have proper security first in place with your system, then all the updates in the world aren't going to help, so I hope you understand that.
I have not jumped on this update, because I know nothing about it, does anyone know anything about this ME security update and what it entails?
Are any of you old enough to know the stories of Microsoft, in the days, going back many years, when all the so called security updates everyone jumped on were so bad, that Microsoft had to put out updates for the updates.
Look don't take my word for it, but if you continue jumping on things right when they come out, sooner or later, one of these updates is going to bite you in the ass, and you'll wish you didn't.
So for not knowing anything about me, I can tell you this, in 20 years of computing, I have never jumped when something came out, and sometimes I never even updated it. I actually also only ran Windows 7 with only SP1 in it for years and I've never ever had a problem ever in computing with my boxes.
Experience, Education, Knowledge, these are your best weapons of security to have and use, not software updates all the time, until you know exactly what is going on, and what that means for you, and if it's really so important.
I'm not saying this is true for all updates, but there are updates that will be released by companies, as an example that are better suited to a particular usage of the computer, like a server, vs workstation, and the type of setup of the computer, software it's running, and how it's being used. Hopefully this makes a little sense, because I have seen updates over the years from Microsoft as example that had nothing to do with anything I needed on my computer, therefore I never installed them. Bottom Line, some updates address a problem related to a specific situation, that isn't always the needs of just a Home end-user. Remember, software from these companies like this ME are also rolled out for the Server, Business and Corporate world too...
So can someone please enlighten us as to what this update is for, I haven't had a chance to look into this, if anyone has an URL, please post it?

Asus (and me) Don't really care what you choose to do or not. This update is for....and now I am quoting from ASUS support page: " Intel has identified security issue that could potentially place impacted platform at risk". If you don't understand what it says you need to learn English.
