Maximus VIII Gene Pcie line info

Hello,
I want to buy the Maximus VIII Gene but I have questions.

If I use M.2 slot in pcie mode x4 line, and I use all SATA ports and/or PCIEX4_1 slot, I have the same performance, or the pcie lines are shared?

If you use a SATA mode M.2 device, SATA6G_12 will be disabled. If you use a PCI-E mode M.2 device you can still use those SATA ports.


For PCIEX4_1 you have to compromise. Under Advanced\Onboard Devices Configuration in the BIOS you have the following options.

PCIEX4_1 Bandwidth
- Auto: Runs at 2X mode with SATA6G_56/SATAEXPRESS_2 enabled
- 4X Mode: Runs at 4X mode with SATA6G_56/SATAEXPRESS_2 disabled
