Hello all. I have been searching the forums for quite a while now and haven't seen any answers yet so I thought I would write. I just got my VIII Ranger a few weeks ago and its been kind of a pain ever since. The first one I got kept giving me error 55(no memory) so i contacted Asus and spent 45 min on the phone with them before they said I should probably return it. The second board I got the only way I can get it to post is by hitting the Memory OK! button on the motherboard. I am using G.Skill F4-3200C16Q-16GRK memory btw. I specifically got the kit because it matched up in the QVL and its 4X 4GB.. I have been running the memory for a few days with it underclocked to 2133 since that's what mem OK set it at and I hadn't messed with the XMP Profile because up until yesterday because I was afraid of it not booting again. Well it happened. I decided to enable the XMP Profile and it did correctly identifying the RAM. I saved the settings in the Bios it restarted and wouldn't post with the q-code 55. I have tried hitting the Mem OK multiple times. I have taken out the CMOS battery. I have hit the reset button a few times. I have reflashed the bios and I have also tried the LN2 Mode Jumper. None of it has worked and it still wont post. Can anyone help me. I really kind of know the next step which is re-seat the memory which i guess ill try but im being lazy because I have to take off the waterblock  . If I do ever get this figured out can someone tell me what setting would work to get this memory up to 3200? Im kind of scared to do it because its so hard to get the bios reset. *Side note to my frustration*. This is my first ROG board and expected huge things but to put in the motherboard cd at the very start and see that they wanted you to install google bloatware but they couldn't even spell google right?(gogle) Come on guys. I do have bios 1302 btw

DDR4 3200 isn't plug-n-play on all CPUs. Some will require manual tweaking. The two voltages that will help you stabilize your memory overclock on this platform are the SA and IO voltages.

Can you link memory kit you bought? I could not find it on G.Skill website.
When is search with RAM configurator your part number f4-3200C16Q-16GRB at GSkill it says that your memory kit is Quad Channel for X99 chipset.
As you want to use a Z170 mainboard as Ranger it is advised to use Z170 designed memory kits as Trident Z.

The link is for the memory I got

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231803 I see now that it is verified under X99 which is BS because on the Asus's QVL,, F4-3200C16Q-16GRK is the correct kit to get. The reason why I didn't get Trident's is because it wasn't on the QVL :mad::mad::mad:

If the memory kit is certified for the X99, then make sure you setup your RAM manually instead of using XMP. Then continue to tweak your voltages.

That's definitely a quad channel kit.

If you bought the kit after November 1st, you can return it up until 1/31 with Newegg's extended holiday return policy.
The 2x8GB TridentZ kit is the way to go on the Z170 platform. It comes in CL14, 15, and 16 flavors.
