KeyBot II Port

This Intel USB 3.0 port supports the KeyBot II feature. Furthermore, the manual states you must connect your USB keyboard to this port if you wish to take advantage of it. Reference p. 2-14 of the User's Guide for its location. Unfortunately, the port will not recognize any device once in the Windows environment. ASUS Tech Support verified my keyboard and mouse work fine via this port while in the UEFI environment. Hence, they concluded the port is fine, and therefore it must be a Windows issue. LEDs within my thumb drives illuminate, but there is no Windows sound when inserting or removing the drives. The latest and greatest Win 10 Pro 64-bit version is installed. All other 10 USB ports recognize devices in Windows, make sounds, etc.. My keyboard and mouse are working normally in other ports. If anyone else has experienced this behavior on a M8E/A motherboard, please chime in? I would also like to hear from folks using this port without issue. Thanks.

i was never able to get my keybot port to work appropriately either. i eventually gave up between the user manual, forums and asus support. Although, whatever i plug into the port works fine except the keybot functions themselves.

It depends on your keyboard. The Keybot feature was designed for those simple, conventional keyboards in mind. Connecting one of those "gaming" keyboards will cause issues most probably.

I know this thread is older, but wanted to share my experience with that damn port.

I was having problems with it as well. What worked for me was installing the Keybot software, and once installed, turning the Keybot off. As soon as I did that, I heard the Windows device connection sound, and my USB started working normally on the KeyBot port.
