Hero VIII - Temperature readings on CPU are different if i have XMP on or off

I have had some problems with my Hero board so i'm not really the happiest owner.

But i have come across a really wierd problem.

When i have XMP turned off (like after a bios update) my CPU temperature readings peaks at around 79 degrees. But when i turn XMP on (without any manual changes to anything, just the auto the board does) the CPU readings while gaming is max 58-59 degrees. Anybody have a good idea how come this is?

Hi Pkalle

List your specs for us please including your cpu cooler.

What increases the cpu temp is the voltage, try setting the voltage manually instead of letting it on auto.

Asus Maximus VIII Hero
Intel I7-6700k
Corsair LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 2400MHz C16 Memory
MSI gaming GTX970 4gb
NZXT X60 watercooling 280mm
Samsung 950pro m2 256gb (OS drive)
Samsung 850evo sata 250gb
Samsung 850evo sata 500gb
WD red NAS 3TB
Corsair rm750x PSU

The computer also gets unstable with XMP enabled. Before 1902 bios update it was around once a week it just frooze. Tonight it did it twice.
