Hero Alpha 3504 BIOS - after sleep mode, the mobo LED reads "30"

After I upgraded to the latest BIOS on my Hero Alpha, I noticed after coming out of sleep mode, that the Q Code LED interface on the motherboard stays on "30"

I have it set to read the CPU temperature, which works prior to being in sleep mode. To get out of the LED reading "30" I have to restart.

Am I missing a BIOS setting or is this due to the new BIOS update?
Z790 Asus Hero Maximus on 0816 BIOS (0914 and 1202 crashes for me on XMP I), Intel 13900k stock clock, Asus 4090 Strix OC edition, FF3D532G720 Teamgroup Ram running XMP I, 16gb x 2, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB x 2, Seasonic VERTEX GX 1200W, Win 11 Pro 64, Deepcool LS720 AIO, NZXT H7 Flow. Comfortably using Armoury Crate for updates/fan xpert.

Qcode 30 means that the PC is coming out of a S3 sleep state. It seems to be hanging while trying to come out of sleep. There may be an issue powering up something returning it from sleep. Check event viewer and see if that pinpoints the issue. Else, don't use sleep. Many older or less compatible hardware has issues with sleep.

I don't think Vinny1001 is saying sleep doesn't work. I think Vinny is saying when it wakes back up the Q Code LED doesn't resume reporting CPU temperature. I have the Alpha and just ran sleep/resume 10 times and it completed each time. It does report 30 upon resuming sleep (S3) just like it reports 40 after normal unaltered shutdown/restart (S4) in Windows 10. I think Vinny wants it to return to CPU temp report after wake (and it won't).

Correct ondersma80. I swear on the previous BIOS that it resumed reporting CPU temp. It's only after updating to the latest, that it remains on "30". I saw this as soon as I updated - never saw it happen before.

Well that stinks 😞 I love having that CPU temp feature.

So no possible way to resume reporting CPU temp after sleep? Argh...

Hi Vinny1001

It's normal to show code 30 after waking from sleep, it will stay on code 30 until you reboot.
