Hi , is there any one having problem as I did, my computer could not shutdown properly and all USB ports will not working if I have installed AI Suite III

But if I uninstall the AI suite III, everything will work fine, I could able to shutdown and reboot computer properly, all USB could function well.

Once I have reinstalled AI suite III, same things happened again, unable to shutdown and USB not function, except if I open AI Suite and change the Energy profile, once I have changed it, everything will back to normal.
Funny is, those symptoms will be occurred again later.

And I noticed that every time I changed the energy profile in AI Suite, there will be an error of ACPI in Windows Event log.

I reported this problem to Asus, but seems they don't want to follow up it.

Could anyone help me?

I have just upgraded my system from Crosshair V with AMD FX 8350 to the Crosshair VI Hero with Ryzen 7 1700X and after installing ai charger my usb ports no longer work when Windows boots. The problem is that there is no PS/2 port on the motherboard and thus I can no longer log into Windows because I have a password. No usb ports working, no keyboard. Only after a restore to before the install of AI Charger (the rest of the suite worked) did I fix this issue. Kinda a major frustration.

I have a M8E/Assembly+Win10 64Bit+AI Suite 3. USB ports stopped working while trying to resolve a nag message to install GPU Fan Helper App every time the computer was booted up. Forum suggestion was to reinstall AI Suite 3 and problem would go away. Wrong!!! All parts of AI Suite 3 had been installed without any issues for the last year and a half. I uninstalled AI Suite 3 and then reinstalled it. Upon reboot for it to take effect, the computer restart was normal until the Win10 splash screen, just before entering your PIN code. The mouse and keyboard have LED lighting. It was on during the initial phase of the reboot, but blanked out shortly after the BIOS entry opportunity. I discovered the USB ports were fine while in the UEFI.

I called Tech Support, but they had no idea what could be wrong. I told them it has to be related to installing AI Suite 3. They said try the other USB ports, reinstall Win10, Reset the CMOS and try flashing the BIOS again. Flashing the BIOS with the latest or an older one had no effect. Then, I found this thread, over two years old! I think you guys are on top of it.

OK. The 1st thing I will do when I get back into windows is to uninstall AI Suite 3. There is a PS/2 Mouse/Keyboard combo port on this motherboard. I have an adapter and an old Dell keyboard, which may let me log in. It is getting late. Will try in the morning. Thanks for all the suggestions.

It is now afternoon, the next day. I was able to use an old Dell keyboard and PS/2 adapter to log into Windows. It required changing one setting in the UEFI to allow the keyboard to wake upon hitting the space bar. Once in, I tried to uninstall AI Suite 3 1.01.30, but it required use of a mouse. Consequently, I performed a System Restore to just before my last action. This regained control of my Corsair keyboard and Mionix mouse. I then uninstalled AI Suite 3. It also got rid of the nag message to reinstall the GPU Fan Helper App. I called ASUS Tech Support back to report on my solution. They said they would elevate it up to a higher level for action. I suggested they first duplicate the problem, then find out what App within the Suite is culpable. I told them they need to remove it from the website and replace it with a version which does not create this issue.

It is now 9 months later. * I am interested in acquiring a backup SSD and it requires AISuite be installed in order to activate USB 3.1 Boost. *The latest version w/n install. *Does anyone know an alternative way to do this?*

Here is an update:

Hi Legolas, I try your method, but it didn't work out, still having the same issues.
And to further investigate the issues, I have reinstall my Windows 10 to test. Finally, I found that AI Suite some time will keep the "System" process to 14% CPU usage,
when this happened, the USB ports will not working at all and windows could not be shut down. But once I changed the power profile from Performance to Power Saving, CPU usage will go down to below 1% and USB ports will back to normal.
And If I run "Fan Tuning" once while at "Performance" profile, the high CPU usage issue will be gone. I think problem are related to Fan Control unit.

Hi,

Device Manager, did the USB drivers all installed correctly?
Try take out all USB devices and test only a keyboard/ mouse( that is working)
Sincerely,
Legolas

Hi Legolas,

Yes I have installed all the USB drivers, and have make sure they are the most updated one.
USB keyboard and Mouse are working fine, because it is already plugged in before booted into windows. The problem only exists when windows is booted up, AI Suite IIII is loaded, when AI Suite III keeps using 14% of CPU power, USB ports will malfunction.

And the most important point is, If AI Suite III not installed in my windows, everythings will work fine.

Hi Mugencow,

I have the same issue. When I spent ~2000 on PC, I want a stable work at the least... Well, now I think that buying of this motherboard was my greatest mistake - ASUS doesn't worry about customers at all.

Could you please write a solution? Who or what is Bahz?
