Freeze after a Bios flash

Captain_Zoc

Hello,

I have a Maximus VIII Hero since a long time and there is a few days I flashed my bios.
Unfortunately, since this flash, my computer is having freeze/black screen/graphic issues but only when I m playing video games. I can watch films or videos without problem.

All my drivers are up to date but my graphic card is a bit old (GTX 660 Ti) but I don't think that it's the problem ?

I hope that you can help me.

Hi Captain Zoc

Welcome to the ROG forum.

Try reverting back to your previous bios version and see if all is well again.

Hum how can I reverting back ? I have already tried but I only get an error message which says that the version I m trying to install "is older than the current version". So the update stops.

Hello

USB BIOS Flashback. Instructions can be found in the included user manual.

Well, thank you, it's actually working, apprently I m not getting freeze.

But now, should I try to install updates 1 by 1 ?

What updates are you referring to?

If you're using windows 10, windows should update windows and install the drivers automatically but they may not be the most recent ones.

If using windows 7 install the motherboard drivers and nvidia driver then run windows update.

I m talking about bios updates.

Ok thank you,

If your pc is running fine after reverting back to your previous bios it would be best to let it there.

You only need to update the bios if you have compatibility or stability issues.

Ok, thank you for these fast answer 😛
