Formula VIII - WATERCOOLED @ 5GHz

Hi all - Just [almost!!] finished my latest build - Thought I'd post a few pics on the ASUS ROG forum.

Samsung 850 PRO 1TB

Aquacomputer 6XT
Caselabs SMA8
Bitspower 'Silver Shining' Fittings throughout
Bitspower 16mm acrylic hardline
... and 4.5L of coolant....:cool:

Build is not quite 100% complete as I need to finalise my lighting setup but it is complete enough for testing of the hardware.

It was a bit tricky trying to get the green UV reactive coolant looking correct in the shots. It is quite a bit more vibrant in person.

Nice build.

I have the same board, cpu and RAM. is there any chance you could post your bios settings so I can test if mine can run 5ghz.

fyi I am running a custom water cooling system.

I was wanting to ask you what the clear rectangular block is in between the reservoirs, it looks as though coolant is flowing through it and it's a temperature gauge or maybe a flow meter?

It looks cool by the way, just wondering what it is. 🙂

Hi Nate,

Yes it is a flow meter - In particular it is called a rotameter.

Normally used in industry to measure flow of liquids and gasses. I also run an Aquaero MPS400 pressure differential flowmeter in the back of the rig to give me a digital/electronic reading of flow which is monitored by an Aquacomputer Aquaero 6XT and Aquacomputer's software in realtime..

The rotameter up front was just added to the system for visual aesthetics only ie. I thought it looked cool and I had not seen any other builds incorporate one into their systems..!


Here is a taller one that I use for calibrating and testing various watercooling items - The gear below was simply setup to generate an accurate calibration curve for a MPS400 flowmeter.
