Hello,
I just bought a new M8 extreme motherboard. This is the 2nd build in my life but the other was 6 years ago. I was going to advice for installation of Corsair coolers on our motherboards. It looks like if I put the retention plate on top I will damage vital components. Should I use it behind the board and screw it from that angle? And should I be using the short screws included or long.

Thanks for the help!
Also, if you think if another option for cooling is better, I'm open to suggestions. I've got a ultra size tower case for expansion Cooler Master cosmos II. Right now I have a 6700k, 980ti, corsair 1200, samsung pro 2T, 32 Corsair ram,

I should add that my main goal is gaming in 4k in as well as possible. I have a 32in Acer Predator 4k

I would also like to overclock and keep my cpu at a stable temp.

I've seen a lot have Ek products. Do you have do a lot of case cutting to fit them in?

Perhaps you mean: Hydro Series™ H110i GTX 280mm Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler? I do not think Corsair makes a h101i gtx. Right?

I meant 100i gtx. Sorry for the confusion. This is my first installation of any aftermarket cpu coolers. From the videos I've seen of the install they put the bracket on the top of the motherboard but on ours it looks sensitive and I have not to do too tight in other posts. Have you installed a corsair cooler on this motherboard?

Thanks for the reply!

No, the retention plate on top has thernal paste on it and also you can add more to protect the cpu. The manual will show you all the steps to install it.
But, the answer to your question, for 1151, it will be short screws.
Sincerely,
Legolas

Thanks for answer! I really appreciate it! That helps a lot.
