Reflash using USB BIOS Flashback. The instructions for its use can be found in the included user manual. Also in the manual is the requirement for the BIOS file to be on a USB flash disk when using EZ Flash from within the BIOS.

Hi,
I don't see instructions for USB Flashback in the Maximus VIII Hero manual but i am familiar with the procedure from other Asus boards i have owned.
One question, the Asus website hasn't been updated with the VIII series board, what should the bios be renamed?

I downloaded the bios file from the website and renamed it M8H.cap, put it in the root of usb drive.
Inserted into correct flash back port.
Turned power on.
Press and held flash back button until it started flashing.
Manual says the flashback button light will go off when flash is complete.......mine stays on, and after a bunch of different q codes it stops on qcode 4F.

P.S.
The manual does say you should use an usb to update bios, i'll give u that. But it never says don't update bios thru ssd, m2 or hard drive......if fact there is an option to do so in the bios utility. Why have the option in the bios to begin with? If its there someone will try it.

Hello
From the included manual:
Hello
The system should not be powered up when performing USB BIOS Flashback. If it is off Q Codes cannot be displayed.
