Like the tittle says ive been having boot issue since installing new GPU. Blue screen within a min or 2 of boot and pc acts laggy . once I reboot all seems fine except asus fan control (although running) isn't loading the desktop icon . new GPU Is a 980 gxt ti old GPU was a 780 gtx oc . psu is a 750 watt PC and PC . ive been using for about 7-8 years . tested and all voltages seem as good as the day i got it . even with cap aging .... went a head and ordered a new psu anyways but I'm really thinking its not the psu . water cooled , 8x 120mm fans ,led's , hd's , my oc ect should not exceed the 750w (60amp on 12 rail) . what do you all thik ? driver possibly ? im using the latest driver from NVidia . old driver uninstalled , cleaned with DDU and fresh install . like I always do. never ran into this behavior before so I'm not sure where to start looking . have these errors in the event viewer every time I boot .

Hi subsider good to see you found the problem, which psu did you get?

I'm using the pc power and cooling turbo cool 1200w, I've had it since 2008-2009 and it's still going strong. 🙂

I wonder if this might help you?

Maybe a complete windows reinstall would fix you up?

Pc is completely stabile after a reboot from a cold boot and any reboots after ..as it was before switching out the 780 GTX to the 980 GTX TI.. If after I put the 780 GTX back in I have any type of issues a complete win 10 install will be the first thing I do . but I have to conclude the gpu is what having/causing the problem till then .

Just curious if you ever solved this as its the same issue I am having. Shot in the dark given how old this thread is, but worth a try.
