DDR4 Speed question

I'm considering the Hero VIII or Hero VIII Alpha. Is there much of a noticeable difference in performance between 2666MHZ, 2800MHZ, or 3000MHz DDR4? Do stability issues increase with speed? How often do XMP profiles work without manual adjustments...
