ASUS RoG Maximus VIII Ranger OC Problem

Guys,

I don't think it's just me, but I'm trying to overclock my CPU (Intel i5 6600k) from 3.5 to 4.0 (for now)

For some reason when I change the CPU Multiplier Ratio from 35 to 40 (synd across all cores) it does absolutely nothing.

I've tried all I can think of, I've followed videos/ guides you name it.

I've tried it with Turbo enabled and disabled, no luck anywhere.

My BIOS version is 2.17.1246

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks guys

For everyday computing, yes, I personally would recommend that. SpeedStep is entirely compatible with OCing these days..it's not like years ago when you were recommended to turn it and sleep states off. these days ypou can benefit from the low voltage and power saving of both and still have the CPU max out when you need it.

And as I say...if for some specific need you want to run at turbo speed constantly just set performance power plan in windows and the CPU will run at maximum turbo anyway.

🙂
