yep you got it, this will confirm if it's your network adapter, let us know the results. 🙂

I tried everything and I came to the conclusion is my Wi-FI extender to which I am connected. After I restart or reset the extender I can have the maximum speed (3.4 MB/s) on my mc for a while or at least until I will restart it. Afterwards it goes back to the limit of 2.4MB/s.
I have the new Sky Q Hub router and the extender behaves the same. I am trying to figure out what is limiting my FTP download as the HTTP is working fine.

Thanks for the update and good job finding what's causing the problem, is there any way you could use it without the Wi-Fi extender?

I have a way to use my pc without the extender but my wife doesn`t like to put cable through the house and unfortunately I have to use another solution. The fault is the extender as I tried it on my laptop and it behaves the same way like on my pc.
I have to consider an extender from Asus https://www.asus.com/uk/Networking/EAAC87/. I hope it will work properly.

You might also want to consider power line adapters for networking. It's often way better than wireless extenders and also doesn't require you to have cables throughout the house.

I wanted too but the speed is not what I want. They are good for online browsing but not for what I need.

The issue is resolved now. It seems my wireless Netgear Extender went banana and did not want to do what it used to do before. I had to buy a new one and thanks GOD I did not have any problem since the new extender. My speed is good at the moment.
Thank you for all you support.
