ASMedia USB 3.1 FW update tool

I need an advice from you guys... Today i updated my BIOS to 3703. I checked all the other entrys on the ASUS Homepage and found the ASMedia USB 3.1 Firmware update. Thought it wouldn't hurt to update and started the process. Afterwards i got a summary telling me, that nothing succeeded, nothing failed and nothing needs to be updated. Little bit confusing for me...

This is a screenshot from another guy looking quiet the same. Is this normal or should i get another response from this tool?

Did you reboot afterwards?

My inclination would've been to reboot twice, then re-run the tool.

Yes, i did. I also tried to re-run the tool as an admin. Same response.

Next step would I guess be to check the firmware version operating now. Perhaps you're good now. I apologize but I don't know how to check the version without downloading an external utility such as firmware.exe, but that would be my next step. Hope that helps some.

The asmedia FW description says:
"ASMedia USB 3.1 FW update tool
FW versions:141231_30_02_0D"

The only controller the mb has is located in your motherboard and the tool needs to be run as admin.
If you get this reply, it means it has the same FW version as in the tool:

Application:Motherboard
FW:14123130020D
total: 1
sucess/fail:0
No need to update:1

In my case everything is "0". At least it tells me, that the installed Firmware and the one provided by the tool are the same. WTF...

Maybe someone with the same mobo (VIII Hero) can give this tool a try and tell me, if he/she gets the same "error".

Before I made my previous post, I right clicked the update tool and choose "run as administrator" in my M8H.
The tool only gives me 0s in everything, if I run it without "run as admin".

This is exactly what i did. I started the tool "as admin" but i only get 0s and the order to restart the system.

Must be some incompatibility with the update tool and your software configuration.
For example I read here, the tool doesn't work if the user name has a space or a special character:
