ive been trying to install windows 7.
the things i do:
enable csm support, select windows uefi for secureboot
prepared w7 on usb and dvd
intel 750 series 32/64bit drivers on a second usb pen drive and on another sata ssd.

if im using the usb method, its booting, but i cant see the intel 750, so im loading the driver from either usb or ssd but it doesnt work to load the driver and i cant see the intel 750.

if im using the dvd method, driver wont load from usb but from the sata ssd. install works fine altough it takes forever (i dont remember it taking that long, (like 20min to just copy files) but i havent installed windows from dvd in years so that might be normal.)
after the first boot everything works fine. but once im rebooting i cant boot anymore. tried to repair the EFI partition but it just wont work

using "other OS" on secure boot doesnt help either
what could be the cause of it?

Maybe format the USB NTFS instead of FAT 32, I don't remember having this issue

maybe thats because your M8E has native usb 2.0 support and the M8F doesnt. ive read somewhere its because of the intel usb controller3.0 not beeing supportet by windows7 setup. makes sense because at that point theres nothing installed yet and the 2nd dvd drive with the asus disk didnt load yet.

ive tried different formats and like 6 different usb sticks in various combinations too

I originally owned a Hero and followed the instructions from ASUS site for Win 7 install, OS disk in USB DVD drive, motherboard driver disk in SATA drive, Windows will pick the proper USB drivers from the motherboard disk I believe automatically, maybe I had to point it to the USB driver and install it first, then the thumb drive with NVME drivers, it has been awhile.or you can use the EZ Installer to create a copy of Win 7 with the USB drivers, you can find this in the utilities section on the download site, If you have a case with USB 2 that connects to the motherboard may be useful, also I looked in an old motherboard box that had a pcie USB 2 adapter that connects to the motherboard and found it usefull
Anyway if you looked way back at some of the first posts for MVIII boards here in these forums there are many threads on installing Win 7
