Adaptive Mode Issue

dolfan058
Level 7

  • CPU: i7-6700K
  • Motherboard: ASUS Maximus VIII Hero Alpha

Successfully stress tested my 6700K at 4.5GHz and 1.3 volts (manual voltage, level 5 LLC allowing up to .0015 Vdroop). Want to set adaptive voltage so I have lower voltages at idle. However, when I did this, my VCORE shot up to 1.376. See attached images and let me know what I'm doing wrong?

Hi dolfan058

In the first bios screenshot you have offset voltage highlighted, try using a negative offset voltage of -0.070v and see if that keeps the voltage close to 1.30v.

I actually tried that with .06 negative and it oddly brought me to 1.29. I'll give -.04 a shot, but why can't I lock it into 1.315 like the BIOS is showing?
